PedVault is run by [OPERATOR NAME] ("we"). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

What PedVault is

PedVault keeps a personal copy of dog pedigrees you choose to save, on your devices and in your account, and lets you share them as links. It is not a registry, it does not certify any pedigree, and it is independent: it is not part of, or endorsed by, any of the sites it imports from.

Where pedigree data comes from

• When you import a pedigree, PedVault reads the one page you gave it and saves a copy for you. Supported today: pedigreeplatform.com, apbtpedigree.com, and archived apbt.online-pedigrees.com pages, read from the Internet Archive. It reads one page per import, never a site as a whole.
• That data, and its photos, come from those sites and the people who entered it there. PedVault makes no promise that it is accurate or complete. Check anything important at the source.
• If a site stops letting PedVault import from it, imports from that site may pause, for a while or for good. Everything already in your vault stays.
• You are responsible for how you use imported data, including the source sites' own terms when you share it.

What you add

• Dogs you add by hand, your photos, notes and edits remain yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them as needed to run PedVault for you, including on links you choose to share.
• Only add photos and information you have the right to use.
• Only restore exports from your own PedVault vault, or ones you have permission to use.

Your account

• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
• Don't use PedVault to break the law, to collect data in bulk from source sites, or to get around their protections.
• There are limits on imports, restores and saved links per day or hour, and on working shared links per account, so the service stays usable for everyone.

Shared links and saved copies

• A shared link shows a copy of a pedigree to anyone who has the address, without an account. You choose what it shows and when it stops working, and you can turn it off at any time. Don't share what you don't have the right to share.
• Each link also lets you choose whether people who view it may save a copy into their own vault. If you allow it, their copy is theirs to keep, even after the link stops working.
• A copy you save from someone else's link is for your own records. Don't republish it as your own.

Test matings

Planned litters and their coefficient of inbreeding (COI) are worked out from the data in your vault, which may be incomplete or wrong. They are a planning aid, not breeding, veterinary or registration advice.

Your data

Your vault is yours. You can download all of it from Settings at any time, restore it later, and delete your account, which removes everything in it. See the privacy notice.

Price

PedVault is free during early access. If paid plans are added, we will tell you well before anything changes, and nothing will be charged without your agreement.

Availability and changes

PedVault is provided as it is, without guarantees of availability or fitness for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows. We may change these terms; if a change matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
